AI for Qlik Cloud and Qlik Sense on-premise

Ask your Qlik. Get the right answer.

Anyone who needs a number types (or says) the question and gets the answer in seconds, with the chart and the math behind it. It works in the apps you already have, on Qlik Cloud or Qlik Sense on-premise, with the same rules and permissions.

The problem

Asking got easy. Answering right did not.

Every business question leaves something open: the period, the status, who counts. A generic AI decides on its own and answers with full confidence.

How many customers do we have?

Could mean
Everyone ever registered
Only the ones active today

What was revenue this month?

Could mean
Gross or net
By order date or invoice date
With or without returns

Who sold the most?

Could mean
By value or by volume
This month or this year
By rep or by team
What a generic AI answers What the person wanted to know Other possible readings
Worse than being wrong is looking right.

A generic AI picks one of these readings without telling you, and the number comes out wrong while looking correct. Cluster Ask shows the possible readings and asks which one you mean before it answers.

In a Qlik survey of executives in Brazil, 94% said AI is essential, and 49% are cutting their AI investment because they don't trust it. Source: Qlik, June 2025 (in Portuguese)

How it works

Nothing to rebuild. Your Qlik already knows the math.

Your app's measures, business rules and permissions already exist. Cluster Ask builds on all of that and adds what the AI needs to answer safely: a glossary, interpretation rules and a validation set.

  1. 1You

    Ask the question

In writing or by voice, in English or Portuguese, inside Qlik, in a portal or in Microsoft Teams.

  2. 2Cluster Ask

    Works out what you meant

It uses the app's measures and the rules validated with your team. If the question can be read two ways, it asks which one.

  3. 3Qlik

    Does the math

The query runs under the login of the person who asked. Everyone sees only what they already saw in the dashboard.

  4. 4You

Get the answer and the proof

A number, a chart and a "How it was calculated" note with the measure, the filters and the last reload date.

The AI doesn't write the numbers. Qlik does.

The AI writes the sentence and leaves blanks where the values go. Cluster Ask fills each blank with the result that came from Qlik. The number you read is always the one Qlik calculated.

What the AI writes
Of the {total} open cases, {m0} are high priority.
What you read
Of the 383 open cases, 66 are high priority.

A voice conversation in a helpdesk app on Qlik Sense on-premise. No filter was clicked: each question built on the previous answer.

"How many open cases do we have?"

There are 383 cases still open.

"Of those, how many are high priority?"

Of the cases still open, 66 are high priority.

"And how many have been open for more than a week?"

Of the open high-priority cases, 49 have been waiting for more than a week.

"Can you break those 49 down by agent?"

31 are with agents and 18 are in the shared queue. The three agents with the most cases come first, in a list of 14.

Features

Built for people who will use the number to make a decision.

Asks when in doubt

If a question can be read more than one way, Cluster Ask shows the options and you pick one with a click.

Shows the math

Every answer lists the measure, filters and source used, taken from the query that actually ran.

Says how fresh the data is

The source, the last reload date and the period the app covers are always on screen.

Keeps the thread

Keep the conversation going without repeating yourself. The active filter shows on screen and clears with a click.

Picks the chart

A number, bars, lines, a pie or a table, depending on the question, including rankings and comparisons.

Listens and talks back

Talk out loud, or dictate the question and review it before sending.

Goes to Excel

Export any answer to Excel, CSV or an image, with the data source attached.

Lives where your team works

Inside the Qlik app, in a company portal or in Microsoft Teams.

Who builds it

Built by a team that has worked with Qlik for more than 12 years.

Cluster knows Qlik from the inside and is known for the design of the dashboards it delivers. Cluster Ask brings both into one product.

12+ years

With the Qlik APIs

That experience shapes how Cluster Ask queries Qlik: in each user's own session, on Qlik Cloud or on-premise.

200+ projects

In UX for analytics

In Cluster Ask it shows up in the follow-up question, the visible math and the voice conversation.

Dataviz

Charts you read at a glance

Each answer comes in the right format for the question: a KPI, a ranking, a trend or a comparison.

Security and governance

If they can't see it in the dashboard, they can't see it in the chat.

Cluster Ask runs on your network and follows the permissions you set up in Qlik. No user data goes to Cluster.

The same permissions as the dashboard

Every query runs under the login of the person who asked. Section Access and single sign-on (SSO) apply as they do in the app.

No values go to the AI

With privacy mode, on by default, the AI gets the question and the measure formulas, without the numbers. Qlik does the math.

Personal data kept out of search

Sensitive fields, such as people's names and free text, can be excluded from the AI's search.

Installed in your company

The Cluster Ask chat, admin and database run on your own server. It works with Qlik Sense Enterprise on Windows and with Qlik Cloud.

You choose the AI model

Use your own AI (LLM) account, with any model that passed the validation set. It doesn't have to be a frontier model.

Only approved users get in

The chat serves only the users enabled in the admin, even if other people have a Qlik login.

Capped costs

Set limits per user, per day and for the whole installation. When the budget runs out, usage stops.

Architecture

Where the data goes

See the full architecture (in Portuguese)
  1. 1
    User and instance

The question goes to the instance, which only serves users approved in the admin.

  2. 2
    Instance and AI provider

The question, the context rules and the measure formulas. With privacy mode, no data values go along.

  3. 3
    User and Qlik

The query runs under the login of the person who asked. The full result stays in the browser and isn't stored on the instance.

  4. 4
    Instance and Cluster

Only the license renewal: the installed version and the AI usage limits. If Cluster goes offline, the chat keeps working.

Reliability

You know how often it's right before you roll it out.

Together with your team we build a list of real questions, each with its correct answer, and test Cluster Ask against it before any user gets access.

First measurement

We run Cluster Ask on your app and measure accuracy before adjusting anything.

Adjustments

Each miss becomes a rule, a glossary term or a fix in the app itself.

Rollout

Live in 3 to 5 weeks.

Your team is involved from day one and finishes the project knowing how to maintain Cluster Ask.

Step 1

Learn the app

Measures, rules, permissions and the questions your data team gets most often.

Step 2

Prepare the AI

We apply Cluster's context methodology and build the list of questions with their correct answers.

Step 3

Measure and adjust

Validation rounds until accuracy clears the minimum.

Step 4

Go live

Cluster Ask goes live and your team receives the knowledge transfer.

Cluster methodology

The AI's context doesn't come from a prompt. It comes from a method.

To answer correctly, the AI needs to know what each measure means, which names people use and what gets left out. Cluster built its own methodology to gather this from your app, with your team validating every point. That's what makes it possible to go live in weeks instead of months.

What each measure meansThe names your team usesWhat gets left out

The next apps

With the knowledge transfer, your team adds new apps whenever it wants. If you prefer, Cluster does it for you.

Support and updates

The first year is included. After that, support is optional and keeps up with changes in your apps.

Pricing

Pay once. No per-user fees.

Roll it out to the whole company without counting seats. The price depends on the size of the app: how many measures, dimensions and KPIs it has.

FAQ

What data and IT teams ask first.

Does it work on Qlik Cloud and on Qlik Sense on-premise?

It works on both: Qlik Cloud and Qlik Sense Enterprise on Windows. The demo video was recorded on an on-premise environment.

How is it different from Qlik Answers?

Qlik Answers is Qlik's own assistant and runs on Qlik Cloud. Cluster Ask covers Qlik Cloud and Qlik Sense on-premise, talks in English or Portuguese by text or voice, and only goes live after it passes the validation set built with your team. Cluster Ask also comes with an admin area you configure per client (voice, branding, rules and cost limits), plus usage and adoption data: questions asked, active users and answer ratings.

Does the AI respect Section Access?

Yes. Every query runs under the login of the person who asked, so Section Access and SSO apply exactly as they do in the dashboard.

Can the AI make up a number?

No. The numbers in the answer come from Qlik, never from the AI's text. The AI can still misread a question, which is why it asks when something is unclear and shows how it did the math.

What leaves my environment and goes to the AI?

With privacy mode, which is on by default, none of your data values. The AI gets the question, the context rules and the measure formulas. The numbers go into the answer straight from Qlik.

Where is Cluster Ask installed?

On a server in your company. The chat, the admin and the database stay on your network. The only thing sent to Cluster is the license renewal, with no user data.

Can I use my own AI model? Does it have to be a frontier model?

Yes, and it doesn't. You connect your own account and pick from the models that passed the validation set. The demo video runs on GPT Luna, an entry-level model.

Do I need to switch BI tools or rebuild my KPIs?

No. Cluster Ask uses the measures, dimensions, business rules and permissions already in your app.

How long does it take to go live?

3 to 5 weeks for the installation and the first app, including Cluster's context methodology, the validation set and knowledge transfer.

Can my team add new apps?

Yes. Knowledge transfer prepares your team to add and maintain apps in Cluster Ask. If you prefer, Cluster does it for you.

Does it work in Microsoft Teams and by voice?

Yes. Cluster Ask works inside Qlik, in a portal, in Microsoft Teams and by voice.

How is it priced?

You pay once for the installation and the first app, with no per-user fees. The first year of support is included, and AI usage is billed by the provider directly to your account.
